In 2007, the report appeared that former Pakistan Pacer Shoaib Akhtar had hit his teammate Mohammed asif with bats. The report was confirmed later and Akhtar was recalled from the world of ICC 2007 T20 in South Africa. This is one of the most controversial incidents in Cricket and Akhtar has always been a favorite child of controversy.

Akhtar previously talked about the incident in his autobiography, his controversy, where he accused Afridi exacerbating the situation.

“Afridi exacerbated the situation and I swung the bat in both. Afridi ducked, but Asif could not get out of the way, the bat hit him on his thighs and he fainted. I have lost it. I never behave like this, especially in the dressing room,” said Shoib ,

Now, Afridi also touched the incident in an interview. Afridi denied worsening the situation.

“Things happen,” said Afridi to taga.tv.

“Asif has sided with me in a joke that angered shoes and all this happened. But Shoaib has a very beautiful heart.”

Afridi remembered the early days in Cricket where his father wanted to focus on the study rather than cricket.

“When I play under 14 and 18, there are only cricket in my life,” he said.

“I used to sleep on my kit if I had a match the next day because I didn’t want to be late.”

“There was no social media at that time, so people showed my photos in Dawn and Jang to my father and said his son was indeed until something good.”

Afridi recently commented on the decision of South Africa’s Cricket to allow their penagins to leave their series against Pakistan for the Indian Premier League 2021 (before being suspended).

“Surprising to see @officialcsa allows players to travel for IPL in the middle of the series. Sad to see the T20 league affect international cricket. Some rethinking it needs to be done !!,” Afridi tweeted.
