India wrapped the first day of the inoculation program on Saturday, with 1,91,181 health services receiving Covid-19 vaccines throughout the country, marking it as a historical vaccination drive to defeat SARS-COV-2.
It is referred to as the largest vaccination program in the world, which includes the length and breadth of India, the drive will first vaccinate the millions of health workers and their front lines and then reach around 3 crore people at the end of their first phase.
Maharashtra and Odisha will not carry out drills today. While the Maharashtra State Health Department has clarified that no Covid vaccination session planned on January 17 and 18, Odisha government officials said they would pause drive vaccination for a day to observe beneficiaries who received the first dose.
Five countries faced problems on day 1 drive vaccination – Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand but was completed quickly, the Ministry of Health said.
