Govt to launch campaign for Covid-19-appropriate behaviour as cases spike


The central government is set to launch “campaign of low-cost people (Jan Andolan)” to promote Covid-19-appropriate behavior, involving the Ministry, state, and even celebrities, because the country recorded the sharpest surge in the case since September, 2020 ,

Partial lockdowns have been imposed in several parts of the country, with Maharashtra, Punjab and Kerala being among the worst affected states. Delhi on Tuesday also imposed a night curfew to reduce the risk of transmission.

“As you know, the number of Covid-19 cases in this country witnessed a worrying increase trend,” Information and Secretary of Broadcasting Amit Khare wrote in a letter to all central government secretaries on Tuesday. “Prime Minister Hon’ble held a high-level meeting on April 4, 20101 to review the arising situation, after the government had decided to focus on a five-fold strategy to handle the crisis that appeared., Testing, search, treatment, behavior and proper vaccination covid -19. ”

As part of the campaign,

the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) on Tuesday also suggested all the central government employees more than 45 to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

“All central government employees from the age of 45 and above are advised to get themselves vaccinated, so that it effectively contains the spread of Covid-19,” Dopt said in office memorandum.

The country grappled with a sharp surge in the Covid-19 case, with the largest increase of more than 100,000 cases in one day this week, the biggest number of daily cases since September. Partial locking has been applied in several parts of the country, with Maharashtra, Punjab and Kerala are among the worst affected countries. Delhi on Tuesday also imposes nighttime hours to reduce the risk of transmission. Some stakeholders have appealed to the government to open vaccination boost to people of all ages, for better to fight the second wave of pandemic.

This campaign will be carried out in several regional languages.

The government will also run the hashtag, # unite2fightcorona, on social media, and the comments of the Premier League will include Covid-19 security messages. The Ministry of Agriculture will address interpersonal communication through farmer organizations and associations, while the train is set to enter messages on train tickets. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will embed a message on all government websites. The Interior Ministry will see publicity for a fine collected for Covid-19 violations.

The government has also suggested to countries that they regulate the digital screen in public places / markets that show photos and videos of people who take vaccines. Celebrities like actors, Cricketers, other sportsmen and industrialists and leading entrepreneurs can also be part of the campaign.
