The Health Minister Union Harsh Vardhan held a meeting with the Minister of Health and the Union region the day before running the Covid-19 Run Nationwide vaccine. Vardhan asked the state authority to be prepared and stopped the wrong information campaign.
“Feedback from Dry Run of Covid-19 vaccines in four countries reviewed in today’s meeting. We have made improvements based on feedback. Tomorrow dry run will be carried out in 33 states and the United States,” said Minister of Health.
He also said that the trained vaccine and guidelines on vaccination plans have been distributed.
“We follow a series of protocols for such exercises, like someone must be stored in observations for half an hour, if there is a need, it will be attended. So, I ask all state authorities to be ready to run dry tomorrow,” Vardhan said.
He also said that the center has provided all relevant information about Covid-19 and the expected vaccine will be launched in a few days, and this must be used to stop the wrong information campaign on social media or elsewhere.
“Covid-19 ‘covishield’ and ‘covaxin’ vaccines are on the verge available in this country. Our efforts are to ensure the delivery of the first smooth vaccine,” Vardhan said.
The second runway which is dry will take place on January 8 in all countries, except at Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. While Uttar Pradesh has traveled dry in all districts on January 5, Haryana has organized today.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health Union said that every district throughout the country has been asked to identify three types of session sites, similar to previous dry runs including public health facilities (district / college hospitals), private health facilities, and rural outreach sites or Urban.
The Ministry further said that around 1.7 Lakh vaccines and three members of the Lakh Vaccination Team have been trained in the process that will be followed on vaccination sites that include recipient verification, vaccination, cold chains & logistics management, Bio-Medical Waste Management, AEFI Management, and Report Co-Win software.
The first national dry run of the vaccination drive took place in 286 session sites spread across 125 districts in the country on January 2 conducted to familiarize state, district, block, and hospital level officers on all aspects of Covid-19 roll-out vaccines.
Dry Run is intended to test the mechanism set for inoculation programs and to assess operational feasibility using co-win applications in the field environment for planning, implementation, and reporting at the block, district and country level. Co-Win has been developed by the Ministry of Health for real-time information about vaccine stocks, storage temperatures and individual tracking of beneficiaries for coronavirus vaccines.
Cold chain infrastructure (such as walk-in-freezer, walk-in-coolers, ice-plated refrigerator, deep freezer) along with sufficient syringe supplies and other logistics is also ensured to start the Covid-19 vaccination drive.
All operational planning and IT platforms were tested in four states – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Punjab and Gujarat – on December 28 and 29 and on the basis of feedback received by the minor increase.
