Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the ministers to help people from their respective regions and continue to get their feedback, according to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday led the council meeting to discuss situations arising from the second wave of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that Niti Aayog Member (Health) Dr. VK Paul made a presentation on the management of Pandemic Covid-19.
During a virtual meeting through video conferencing, PM Modi urged the ministers to help people from their respective regions and continue to get their feedback, according to service I & B. He also emphasized the need to ensure that problems at the local level were immediately identified and handled.
“The council meeting notes that the current pandemic crisis is ‘once in a century crisis’ and has thrown a big challenge for the world,” the ministry said in a statement.
India witnessed an unprecedented health crisis in the midst of continuous increase in Covid-19 cases and death. The Ministry of Health and family welfare on Friday Morning announced that India recorded 3.86,452 new cases of Covid-19 and 3,498 deaths related in the last 24 hours. Official data shows that Maharashtra witnessed maximum daily victims with 771 deaths, followed by Delhi with 395 deaths.
A large surge in the case of Covid-19 has surpassed health care infrastructure and lack of oxygen and other medical supplies have been reported from various countries. Meanwhile, the first consignment of Covid-19 assistance from the United States, which included 440 oxygen cylinders and regulators and 960,000 quick diagnostic tests, arrived in India on Friday.
The I & B ministry said that the efforts of the central government in coordination with countries to overcome infrastructure challenges was issued during the meeting. The Board also reviewed the efforts made in the last 14 months by the Central and State and Indian people, adding ministries.
