The National Commission for Women has taken Suo Moto’s awareness for allegedly struggling an old woman by TMC supporters in West Bengal.

Shova Majumdar, Mother of the leader of BJP Gopal Majumdar,

allegedly attacked on Saturday by ruling party workers, who had refused the accusation as “wrong”. The police, however, claimed that the mother of BJP supporters was not attacked and her face was swollen because of the disease.

“NCW has found a Twitter post about an old woman who allegedly attacked by supporters of political parties as her son supporting different political parties,” according to a statement on Monday.

The Commission has taken awareness and Chair of the Sharma Rekha has written to the Director General of Police for taking action in this matter to avoid recurrence of “such incidents in the future”, he said.

The Apex Women’s Rights Agency has also written to the Main Election Commissioner and has been looking for detailed actions, the statement added.

Mrs. Majumdar claims that her and her son were beaten by “Got” TMC and that they threatened his son not to reveal the incident to anyone.

The problem is being investigated and behind the incident has not been identified because they wore a mask. The incident was examined from all angles, including political competition and family disputes, the officer said.
