The state government states that new restrictions will take effect from 6 am on May 16 and will remain in place until 6:00 on May 30.
The West Bengal state government on Saturday announced that complete locking will be held in the state between May 16 and May 30. However, emergency services have been released and important services have been permitted with several restrictions.
In a command signed by the Secretary of the Head of State Awaran Bandyopadhyay, the government said that new restrictions would take effect from 6am on May 16 and will remain at 18:00 on May 30. He also directed state officials to ensure that the limitation was to ensure that restrictions. Followed by strictly said, “District administration, police commissioners and local authorities will ensure a strict compliance of the direction mentioned above. Every violation of the limitation steps will be responsible for continuing the provisions of the Disaster Management Law, 2005 and at under the Criminal Code. ”
New restrictions were announced a day after the State reported a one-day surge in 20,846 new Covid-19 cases and 136 deaths on Friday, a bulletin from the Ministry of Health showed. With this, cases in Bengal reached 1,094,802 while the dead rose to 12,993.
Under new limits, all educational institutions in the state will remain closed. Government and private organizations have also been closed except those who provide emergency and essential services such as health care, court, fire services and funeral services.
Like in many countries currently under locking, Bengal has also ordered all shopping complexes, malls, markets, spas, beauty homes, cinema rooms, restaurants, bars, sports complexes, gymnasiums and swimming pools to remain closed during the period.
Shops are permitted to function for a number of hours under the curfew. While the grocery store and those who sell vegetables, fruits, milk, bread, meat and eggs are permitted to keep open between 07.00 and 10 in the morning, the Sweetmeat shop is allowed to operate between 10:00 and 17:00. Also, the jewelry shop and saree can still be open from 12:00 to 3 pm. However, medical stores and optical stores have been allowed to operate normally.
The government has also limited the maximum number of people permitted on social events. While 50 people were allowed at marriage, the funeral was permitted with 20 people. “All administrative, academic, entertainment, political, cultural and religious, grouping and churches must be banned,” said the command.
From May 16, all intra-country trips such as trains, metro, bus services and land transportation have been banned except important personnel movements. Also, private vehicles are also only allowed for several emergencies. Meanwhile trucks and operator goods are allowed to transport medical equipment, oxygen, essential food commodities, gasoline, diesel and LPG.
While the strength of 50 percent was permitted in all shifts in the tea garden, rubbing rubbing was allowed to operate with a power of 30 percent, the order said. All e-commerce activities and home delivery of all commodities are also permitted.
Apart from the implementation of new restrictions, the government emphasizes the need to follow non-pharmaceutical interventions such as wearing facial masks, maintaining social distance and following the cleanliness protocol at any time.
